Flip Of The Switch
From this last round of edits for Titan 2: City Under Siege I have a new element add to Michael's character that is all together dark, twisted, and fun, at least to write. The funny thing is the whole thing came about by accident.Andrew Roberts, who was helping me with some editing, mentioned to me that he felt every time Michael transformed into Titan it was while some other crisis in his own life was happening. Yet, when the city was save d and Michael could transform back and address his own issue he seemed reluctant like the urgency was gone and he just wanted to stay as Titan. At first I felt I had dropped the ball and need to re-write these sections to show Michale caring more and rushing back to his friends and family. Then it hit me, Michael is not superpowered in the same sense of Superman, Spider-Man, or Invincible, his powers are turned on and off like a switch. Wouldn't having access to that kind of power be somewhat addictive. That's what I want to explore, Michael feeling this need or desire to remain in Titan form to have this power at his fingertips and even putting his own personal obligations at risk to keep that power longer. We'll see where it goes, but I think it posses an interesting dilemma.
